What a Success

Thank you to all the parents who attended the parent day festivities. I appreciate everyone coming out and showing your students that you care. Now you can remember what it was like for you to be in an elementary school setting. For tonight as we discussed at school, the students need to continue reading their books.

Another reminder is Progress Reports are due back to me tomorrow! Please sign and return them. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email or call.

St. Patrick's Day is suddenly approaching and we are in need of volunteers to help out in the class. If you are interested please contact Billy Bob at 555-5555.Thank you!

As we end this winter season we want to pray for:
~those in the military and their families
~those who are sick or deadly ill
~those who have cancer
~those who are sad, lonely, poor
(prayers suggested by students)

Our Student of the Week is Mickey Mouse and he is so excited. Mickey is a part of band and choir and plays soccer, basketball, and baseball. He is a straight A student. We are so proud of you Mickey!

This wraps up the weekly announcements. If I have forgotten anything please let me know!'

This year, I decided to have parent day. This will consist of parents coming in and spending a full day with your student. It will be like any other school day, and the parents will participate in everything. There will be some added fun to the day though. I ask that each family bring a snack to share. It may be whatever you like! (I prefer things with peanut butter) So I guess it's not all about me. I hope this will be an exciting day where parents can really find out what their students go through in eight hours.

I ask tonight that the students and parents continue reading from the chapter books they were given. See you tomorrow for a fun filled day!

What A Crazy Wednesday

Busy Wednesday!
After being out for a day, due to our field trip, we had a very busy day in the classroom. We started out with our specials which were Art and Gym. After both of those, we came back to the class and worked on English/Reading.Here is a website to practice some of the things we went over. Feel free to roam the site to check out other activities.

After that, we went on to math. Again we just worked on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. You may use the same website as we did the other day! Since Math was just a review, we did something new in science. Since we learned about mammals, maybe you could challenge yourself and play the mammal match game below! Good Luck!

Hope this allows you and your family to challenge each other and see who knows their elementary stuff!
Have a wonderful night!

We Are Going on a Field trip

Congratulations to my class who returned ALL of their Permission Slips on time!

Tomorrow is our field trip to the Children's Museum. Please make sure that you have a sack lunch along with a drink. Students need to be at school and in the classroom by 8:00 A.M. We will take attendance, go over conduct rules and depart around 8:15. If you are a chaperon, please make sure you are also here by 8:00. We should arrive back at school roughly around 2:50 P.M. with enough time to depart school with the rest of the students. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at helloteacher@yahoo.com or call 123-4567.

Thank you and I am looking forward to spending the day at the Children's Museum with you.

Here is a Web Site to look ahead and see what interests you at the Children's Museum!
